Extracellular synthesis of Silver nanoparticles from Aspergillus niger

Silver nanoparticles were synthesized extracellularly using fungi Aspergillus niger. The silver nanoparticles were characterized under UV-Visible spectrophotometer, SEM, EDX and FTIR. The silver nanoparticles were tested for their antibacterial activity against gram positive and gram negative bacterial strains.

Dye decolorization of Rose Bengal dye by Aspergillus niger isolated from the soil contaminated with textile dyes

The project deals with the Rose Bengal dye decolorization by the fungi Aspergillus niger isolated from the soil contaminated with dye waste. The physicochemical and biological properties of the soil were also studied. The decolorization by fungi is effective at 100ppm, moderate at 200ppm and nil at 300ppm of dye concentrations.
